Eek! I’ve finally got to the point where I’ve decided to bite the bullet and blog my book reviews. How exciting! But where on earth do I start? “No Shelf Control” sums me up really… too many books on my TBR pile with more added all the time. Always nose deep in a book, be it on a lunch break, in the bath, on a train, by the beach – any moment I can grab to myself, I will read! Kindle, paperback, hardback, mobile phone, tablet…. anything and anywhere!
My favourite genre is thriller. Anything crime, psychological, mysterious, dark. I like my books to keep me guessing and on my toes throughout. I love a good “whodunit” with lots of good twists and turn. I also like to push myself out of my comfort zone from time to time, so you’ll see a few random books as well.
I try and keep my reviews quite short. This is deliberate. You don’t need a whole page about what happens in the book, or any spoilers from me! I’m here just to tell you whether I, personally, enjoyed it, whether I would recommend it and my basic viewpoint.
I think I’m quite generous with my star ratings, I absolutely appreciate the author’s time and the effort that goes in to creating a book, so I always bear that in mind. What doesn’t work for me, doesn’t necessarily make it a “bad book”, so I do tend to work from 3 stars upwards. It would really have to take something for me to rate a book 2 stars.

I am a mother to two wonderful girls and my husband is a big reader as well. We have four (yes, four) dogs and two cats who you will see a lot of in my photos. One, or more, are usually curled up with me when I’m reading. My little reading buddies, I call them ♡
I’m always happy to add new friends on Goodreads, so if you want to be friends over there, please feel free to request me.
I enjoy reading ARCs and am an active NetGalley reviewer. I’ve found some amazing new authors through there. I post to Amazon, Goodreads, Waterstones and Kobo. Please get in touch if you would like me to review your book.
I hope you enjoy my reviews, please do leave a comment if you like them, or have read the book too – I’m always excited to hear other opinions on the books I’ve read xx
