My Rating: ★★★★☆

Amy flees her old life, changes her name and gets a job as a nanny/housekeeper in the tiny village of Knockrea in Ireland. Strange things start happening around the village and all suspicion seems to point at the family’s introverted teenage son. Can Amy keep the low profile she’s desperate for? More importantly, can Amy keep her secrets hidden?

Aww, I loved this. In a really heart breaking way. Amy’s story is just so believable. The author does a really good job with her flashbacks and the “before” sections.
Sensitive, and thought provoking at times, this book highlights the very real struggles of domestic abuse, whilst delivering a suspenseful thriller at the same time.
The “Why didn’t you leave?” chapter was incredibly emotive, and left a lump in my throat.

Many thanks to NetGalley and publishers for my advanced copy.
