Publication Date: August, 2023

Genre: Thriller

My Rating: ★★★★★

The Marriage Act takes us to the Smart Era. Smart phones, smart TVs, smart cars and… smart marriages. With a smart marriage comes perks like better healthcare, cheaper taxes and interest free loans. With your conversations monitored, if your marriage is deemed under threat, you may be assigned a marriage counsellor, or worse still appear before the marriage court.

This was so frightening because it’s so believable! I loved the short chapters, the multiple storylines and futuristic element. I’ve read a number of John Marrs books now, and this is probably the best so far.

My favourite two character were Arthur (how sad, I shed a tear or two for him and his wife) and Jeffrey, the psychopath Relationship Responder.

Very clever writing, another 5* read from Marrs.
