Paris The Memoir takes us through the privileged life of a rich heiress. From childhood, through to marriage. Clubbing, festivals, DJing, reality shows, perfumes, bags, sunglasses, photo shoots. The Hollywood life of fame that people dream of! But for all the good, there are bad parts too.
I honestly didn’t realise just how much Paris had gone through when I first picked up this book.
Her teenage years at CEDU read like an absolute horror story and my adrenaline was pumping each time she ran away, hoping this time she’d finally make it. I didn’t know places like that existed! Absolutely abhorrent. I don’t know how she managed to forgive her parents for sending her there and refusing to listen to her cries for help.
The bullying from her peers; South Park, Sarah Silverman, the invasions of privacy, break ins, humiliation. She speaks about it all with such maturity. Turning the negatives in to positives and going on to fight for advocacy for troubled teens, when many would just try and switch off and ignore that part of their life.
Paris comes across as very level headed in this book, a strong woman with an incredible business mind and get-up-and-go about her. Confident and ambitious. A woman who loves her family above everything, and her animals. I feel like the message of speaking up and not being ashamed comes across well. What an unexpected role model she is! No tales of drug addiction, drink problems or blaming others for her wrong doings, Paris owns up to her mistakes made and simply apologises for them.
A surprisingly good read.
