“Fame? That world isn’t real, my friends. It’s. Not. Real.”
Oh Britney!
It’s hard not to feel incredibly sorry for her and everything she’s had to endure, and everyone that’s let her down.
Right from the start she’s dealt with abuse, death and misogyny. The way she was sexualised from such a young age is just absolutely despicable. The people around her that let that happen should be ashamed.
Her family, the people you expect to keep you safe, utterly exploited her. Her father is an evil, evil thief of a man. He stole her childhood, stole her money and stole her dignity.
The first part of the book is quite matter of fact, very simple and pretty unemotional. Considering the topics she speaks about, I was expecting a bit more feeling. However, when she gets to the conservatorship, that’s when we start to see her emotions come out a bit more.
It’s a very quick read, especially for an autobiography, but I feel like we do get a good idea about the horror of a life she’s lead and I feel I understand her a bit more.
Enjoy your freedom Britney, it’s long overdue x
