Title: Life on the Grocery Line
Author: Adam Kaat
Publication Date: March, 2023
Genre: General Literature
My Rating: ★★★☆☆
Centred around Daniel and his new job at the supermarket during the Covid-19 outbreak, this book follows his feelings and thoughts during the difficult time of the virus. Navigating health, safety and the customers along the way.
Customer service definitely doesn’t suit this guy. He’s utterly miserable! 30 something, no kids, no career, spends his evenings drinking beer and judging others. Doesn’t like it when customers talk to him, doesn’t like it when they don’t and seems to have a chip on his shoulder for anyone in a better financial position than he is. Maybe data entry would be more his thing. If I was meant to sympathise with Daniel, I certainly didn’t. I wasn’t keen on this book.
